Skill Development Programs
UP Skill supports young people to develop skills in an efficient, individualised, and specialized way. Our Occupational Therapist assesses the young person's independent living skill ability, and produces a report and program, which is then implemented by a support worker for a 10-week period. At the end of the 10-week period we aim to have fully implemented the goals of the program – and record the progress/limitations along the way. Some areas in programs may include tasks such as household tasks, job preparation, personal care, travelling on public transport, and developing more independence.
Skill Program implementation support has a 2-hour minimum shift which includes staff travelling to/from the Skill Development Hub. It is only available during weekdays – with limited after-hours support available.
