About Geronimo Allied Health
Geronimo Allied Health provides a range of innovative, person-centred supports to people of all ages, from childhood through to adulthood. With offices in Melton and Geelong, we focus on skill development and meaningful community participation. We have a team of Occupational Therapists and Support Coordinators who work collaboratively to deliver inclusive and neuroaffirming supports, empowering our participants to engage in occupations that are meaningful to them.
HOW WE WORK
Our approach
At Geronimo, we take a neuro-affirming, individualised approach. We work closely with participants and their families to understand what’s meaningful to them, and design supports that build independence, confidence, and long-term outcomes. We pride ourselves on providing creative, flexible services that address each individual’s unique goals, whether at home, school, in the community, or at our therapy spaces.
We are committed to dignity, inclusion, and legislative compliance, with a strong focus on supporting LGBTQIA+ people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and individuals from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds. Our services are designed to be safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive, recognising diverse identities, cultures, and communication needs. We ensure all supports meet both state and Commonwealth legislative requirements.
GERONIMO’S HISTORY
Our background
Geronimo has a long history of supporting families across Geelong and Melton, with community-focused teams embedded in both regions.
The service grew from our original skill development program, Wild Rumpus, which began in Geelong and laid the foundations for our creative, strengths-based approach. In 2019, Geronimo was established to strengthen our occupational therapy and support coordination services, founded by James, whose creativity, passion for supporting others, and innovation in the disability sector shaped the organisation’s early direction. Today, Geronimo remains a dynamic, neuroaffirming service, focused on small, highly skilled teams doing what they do best - supporting people to achieve their goals.
Laura joined Wild Rumpus while studying Occupational Therapy at Deakin University and quickly discovered her passion for creative skill development. She went on to work as an occupational therapist at Geronimo before leading the team as Director. In 2023, Laura became the owner/Director of Geronimo and has continued to build on its strong foundations, leading community-based teams that provide thoughtful, client-centred support and deliver meaningful outcomes for the people they serve.
